Browse Reports

When you sign in to the Dashboard, you can view reports about anything from customer satisfaction ratings for your devices to the most recent product issues.

Viewing reports

To see reports that are specific to your products, you must sign in to the Dashboard.

To browse for a report

  1. Sign in to the Dashboard by using your Microsoft account.

  2. On the left side of the window, click Reports.

  3. On the Reports page, you can review most reports. To view other reports, in the Reports tile, click Browse reports.

  4. On the Browse reports page, click the report that you want to view.

To create a customized data report on your products

  1. On the Reports page, under Downloads, click Product Mapping Tool.

  2. In the Product Mapping tool, select the drivers, products, or product groups that you want to follow.

     

    Option Description

    Driver

    Provides driver mappings based on filenames.

    Products

    Provides data based on file versions from specified directory.

    Product Groups

    Groups products for reporting.

To read a report

  1. Although the content and format of the reports vary according to the report type, navigate through the report by using the following:

     

    Option Description

    Plus or minus sign

    Expand or collapse the section that contains detailed information.

    Cabs link

    Download the .cab file for review. The .cab file contains detailed information about the circumstances surrounding the failure that occurred, and can be used for diagnosis.

    Request more detail

    Opens a form where you can request more .cab files, which will show as additional .cab links the next time Microsoft refreshes the report.

    noteNote
    As more .cab files are collected, some .cab files such as heap dumps may take a while to be collected.

    You can request more .cab files for a specific failure. Options include mini dumps and heap dumps.

    Create response

    If the report is for a software failure (user-mode), this redirects you to the Software response section of the site.

    If the report is for a hardware failure (kernel-mode), this opens a new window with a form for you to complete.

    In all cases, responses appear in the Action Center, as a flag in your taskbar at the bottom right of your screen.

    You can also use the navigation bar at the top of each report to do the following:

     

    Option Description
    Navigate the report

    Page through the report.

    View parent report

    Return to the parent report.

    Search the report

    Enter a term to search the report.

    Export report

    Export the report to one of the following:

    • An .xml file

    • A comma-delimited or .csv file

    • A .pdf file

    • An .mhtml file

    • Microsoft® Excel

    • A .tiff file

    • Microsoft Word

    Refresh report

    Refresh the data.

    Print report

    Print the report.
