Discovered Hardware Properties

At run time, the hypervisor can discover information about the underlying physical hardware by using architecturally-defined mechanisms (for example, on x64 platforms, the hypervisor can use the CPUID instruction).

Hardware properties that are discovered or derived by the hypervisor at run time include the relationship between logical processors (for example, multi-core and symmetric multi-threading).
