Using the Hypervisor

The hypervisor can be used in the following scenarios:

• Operating system developers (for example, Linux developers), who want to enlighten their operating systems to take advantage of the optimizations that the hypervisor provides, must use the hypervisor's hypercall interface. The hypercall interface is an assembly-language interface that partitions use to access the hypervisor.

• System administrators and application vendors can use selected hypercalls to enable, disable, and configure tracing, and to measure performance.
