Saved State

A parent partition can call the hypervisor's HvSavePartitionState hypercall function to save the state of a child partition. The parent partition can later call the hypervisor's HvRestorePartitionState hypercall function to migrate (restore) the saved state on another system, or the parent partition can checkpoint the saved state for a subsequent restart.

All virtual processors must be explicitly suspended before the state of a partition can be saved.
