MONITOR and MWAIT
The hypervisor does not support the use of the MONITOR instruction but does have limited support for MWAIT. Partitions that possess the CPUManagement privilege can use MWAIT to set the logical processor's C-state if support for the instruction is present in hardware. Availability is indicated by the presence of a flag that is returned by the CPUID instruction for a hypervisor leaf (for more information about hypervisor CPUID, see CPUID Information Provided by the Hypervisor). Any attempt to use these instructions when the hypervisor does not indicate availability will result in a #UD fault.
